They come into our lives
Some out of the blue
But leave like a thunderbolt
Crowded rooms brighten
Make a house a home
More than a lifeline
North Stars who anchor us
Both wind and sails at times
All are irreplaceable when gone
Their loss world crashing
Far better with them near
A crushing void without
Words fail their importance
It’s soul weeping sorrow
That hurting, airless depth
…Death our greatest equalizer.
